This is the eastern side of the bay as you can see on the map. It is further to get to than Bigbury, taking around 45-55 minutes to get to from Plymouth. Follow the road to the end and you will find parking at the bottom in a field. There is also a pub in the town for the after sail drink. A SW wind is more onshore here and therefore is not as popular with windsurfers. It is however more popular with kitesurfers as the onshore conditions are good for those learning as you will only be dragged back to the beach rather than out to sea. This side of the bay is less sheltered by the island so the waves tend to bigger and cleaner. This area is very popular with surfers and is usually crowded if the swell is good. If the Wind comes from the NE and there is a good swell then this is the area to windsurf. You can easily sail over from the Bigbury side and get into the bigger swell and cross off wind or stay on the bigbury side and enjoy flat water sailing.
